Who I Work With

I work with adults moving through the messy middle — grief, identity shifts, burnout, caregiving, or a chapter of life that no longer fits. My clients are often BIPOC, faith-aligned, or deeply reflective people looking for space to reconnect with themselves.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, trying to reclaim your voice, or simply seeking clarity, this work is about more than symptom relief — it’s about becoming whole again.

My approach

You’re the expert on your story — my role is to help you hold it with care, explore it with curiosity, and support you as you shape what comes next.

I bring a flexible, culturally sensitive approach to our work. That might look like slowing down to notice what’s coming up for you, working through trauma responses with grounding strategies, or weaving in faith-based reflections when that’s part of your healing.

Depending on what you need, I may draw from tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help challenge negative thought patterns, or Narrative Therapy to explore and reframe the stories that shape your self-view. I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support emotional processing and values-based living.

There’s no one-size-fits-all path here. Together, we’ll find what fits you — not what looks good on paper.

What it's like to work together...

Clients describe me as grounding, intuitive, and curious. I ask thoughtful questions, offer calm presence, and welcome your full humanity — including your culture, your faith, and your grief.

You don’t need to justify your exhaustion or explain your background. We’ll build a space where you don’t have to translate yourself — and where healing doesn’t have to look like perfection.

Sonia is currently accepting clients in New York.
